TEE TIME PROCEDURES:
Each month a new Tee Time Captain and Team is appointed to acquire tee times for the BGA, eight days prior to the Monday and Friday play days.
The Captains responsibilities are as follows:
Sign up Procedures for Captains:
Call and or e mail the members of your team and remind them to call the pro shop at 3:29 PM on Thursdays and Sundays for the Monday and Friday tee times. History has shown that it is best to do this each week. Contact the pro shop and determine if both courses are available. The preference is always for the Oaks at 9:00 AM. You can also let them know how many tee times you will be requiring. Count the number of regulars signed up.(do not exceed 40). Circle each check mark with red ink or other a distinctive marker. This will identify who has signed up 9 days ahead of time, as required. (Draw a line in each blank, unchecked box, of those that have not signed up). Total the numbers of players, divide by 4 and round up to the foursomes, i.e. 27 players get 7 tee times, 28 players get 7 tee times. 29 players 8 tee times. If the number is less than 40 add the FIRST CHOICE ADDITIONAL PLAYERS who are members (and house guests) that have signed up. Do not exceed 10 tee times. Give the number of tee times required to your team members, the pro shop, and the webmaster at cwynne@tampabay.rr.com. When acquired, the tee times will be e-mailed to BGA Members.
Regular players that want to play and failed to sign up should contact you. Write the number of tee times reserved, the tee off time, and the course on the sign up sheet. Remember it is the responsibility of all players to notify you if they have signed up and are unable to play. It is your responsibility to contact those on the additional players' list and let them know that they can play. Last minute cancellations (usually the morning of play) should be phoned in to the Pro Shop. The Pro Shop will notify you and additional calls then are made. If a member is a no show and a no call you should contact that person and let them know the importance of proper notification. Let Jim Remler know if you see a pattern. In addition when the tee times have been made, fill out the play sheet for the current day for the Pro Shop and make one copy for Ray Boudreau. Tack the one for Ray on the board. Show up a half-hour early for last minute cancellations and the calling of additional payers if possible. If you have someone fill in for you please make sure they read this. If you have any questions, please call
John Rowan @ 746-1570.
